Steve Olson Interview for Cherryhillskatepark.com

CHSP.COM:
Whats your full name

STEVE:
My name is STEVEn FLemInG OlsOn

CSHP.COM:
Your Opinion of Cherry Hill Skatepark:

STEVE:
Cherry Hill was a kick ass fucking skatepark, and the people that hung out there and the owner, as far as I can remember were pretty cool too!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CHSP.COM:
How long was your shredding visit to Cherry Hill:

STEVE:
I think I went there twice, once towards the end of Winter, there were snow storms happening at the time. But one time, I think the first time I went there, someone (and I don't want to point any fingers), gave me a bunch of pills, 714s, lemons, (and if you don't know what I'm talking about, I'm truly sorry, but ask someone from that time). Anyway, I had my older brother’s I.D. saying that I was 21 yrs of age, when I was really only 17. I could cross the street to some small little bar and have some cocktails, you know what I'm sayin, couple of pills, couple of drinks, and I couldn't walk, let alone skate some kinda of demo at 6:00. It didn't matter either cause my skating wasn't really all that great at that time. But it was fun as shit, that was one of the best Skateparks ever made in the history of skateboarding. How's that feel to have had one of the best, if not the best Skateparks ever?

CHSP.COM:
Your punk rock persona as illustrated in Skateboarder Magazine heavily influenced a certain demographic (for some, maybe more so than the Sex Pistols did); who were you favorite bands at the time that you won skater of the year:

STEVE:
Punk rock, it's the attitude that goes with skating, same with hip- hop and or rap, it's all just attitude. Back then though you had Rock n Roll and Disco, and it all sounded fucked, but so what…There's always something to complain about if you know what I'm saying. Just ask Friedman, he'll tell ya. The favorite bands at the time when I was fortunate enough to win skater of the year? There were too many to
even think about which ones were my favorites, but here's a couple: The Avengers from S.F., Crime from S.F. The Heartbreakers from N.Y., (ya know Johnny Thunders and the boys), Generation X, Sham 69 (both from England), The Weirdos from L.A., Fear from L.A., D.O.A. from Canada, The Ramones, The Clash, The Pretenders, and Devo, the list goes on and on and on...999, X-RAY SPECS, Buzzcocks, Mink De Ville, please stop me, I'm losing my fuckin mind tryin to remember all the great fucking music back then. The problem is, there was just way to much great music happening then, and thank God for it.

CHSP.COM:
Your current tastes in music are:

STEVE:
My current taste in music - so much music, not enough space and or time, but I still listen to all the great fuckin bands I just mentioned........

CHSP.COM:
Did your visit influence your skating upon your return to California:

STEVE:
Yes it influenced my skating, and my intake on pills and booze............ that can kill ya, if you didn't already know it....................

CHSP.COM:
The interviewer knows that your visit predated the big hair Jersey girl stereotype but did you find the ladies of interest:

STEVE:
The ladies, well there really weren't that many chicks around that I remember the first time. The second time though, there was the owner’s daughter, and she, I remember was really a lot of fun. Cute too, and really SSEEXXYYY And NAUGHTY

CHSP.COM:
Did you find a specific lady of interest:

STEVE:
I just answered that already, but here goes nothing, the OWNER’S DAUGHTER, {Editors Note: The remainder of this story can be read in an upcoming Penthouse Forum…. Steve, we have forwarded your information on and Mr.Guccione will be contacting you shortly for the story rights….)

CHSP.COM:
Describe the terrain of Cherry Hill Skatepark and your favorite bowls:

STEVE:
I think the whole skatepark was fun as shit, if I remember right, the 3/4 pipe, the big Egg Bowl, the lil Key hole, the bank freestyle, basically everything, and know I didn't have one thing that I preferred than the other.

CHSP.COM:
Did you fly out and skate with other pros:

STEVE:
I flew out by myself the first time, and then I came up with Brad Bowman, who ripped that place harder than anyone in my opinion, but Shogo ripped hard too, and so did T.A. all the motherfuckin locals, whatever............. I was there, Bert Lamar, Dave Andrecht, Fred Blood [the roller skater], and that is all I can come up with, oh yeah, Ted Terrebone, the photographer, And always I think with Friedman....He's the Man, the Cherryhill Man..................Yeah YEAH YEAH

CHSP.COM:
Did you go to Shogo's local pad:

STEVE:
No, I don't think I did go to Shogo’s local pad, but then again, I might have, he's a super cool cat, I don't care what anybody says, I'll kick there fucking ass if they disagree.

CHSP.COM:
Did you happen to get to the Cherry Hill Mall or the Pennsauken Mart (we here in Jersey overtly love the malls and covertly love the Mart):

STEVE:
No I didn't get over to the Malls at all, but I would of like to of, probably a lot of chicks, my bad, I was just skating and raging................

CHSP.COM:
A reliable source has stated that you are good pals with Wally Holiday, can you provide some insight:

STEVE:
My Wally Holiday stories, they are just way to long right now to get into, but trust me, when I have more time I will, for sure.........

CHSP.COM:

The Black Label guys all rip, Brain Sumner, Ed Templeton, Chris Senn........fuck there's way too many to mention. Jim Murphy, Andy Kessler, Pat Smith, all those fuckers up in New York….enough said, next..

CHSP.COM:
How often do you surf, skate and snowboard:

STEVE:
I surf and skate all the time, and when I get the chance to snowboard I do. But it's easier to go surf or skate cause it's where I live, right near the beach....One other thing, I 've been snowboarding since the late
70's on Wintersticks up in Utah, whatever Burton.

CHSP.COM:
Another reliable source says that you do snowboard; what are your favorite spots and have you been to Kirkwood near Tahoe:

STEVE:
My favorite places to Snowboard are Utah, Wyoming, Colorado, and anywhere that's got some snow...know what I mean......

CHSP.COM:
